The High Quality Teacher Share on Making Literacy Toolkits is half over, and I am so proud of teachers’ ideas for and dedication to their toolkits. We have everything from a kindergarten reading toolkit to a fourth grade realistic fiction writing toolkit in forms ranging from sketchbooks to ARC notebooks and binders. Together, they’ve troubleshooted issues and shared ideas. Soon, teachers will start using their toolkits with students, and I can’t wait to hear about how it goes!
Here is this week’s roundup of literacy links for some quick inspiration, tips, and refreshment:
- Friday is World Read Aloud Day! How will you celebrate?!
- One of the first teaching journal articles about the benefits of graphic novels in graphic novel form (note: the graphic novel recommendations at the end may not be appropriate for elementary-aged students)
- Love is…
- All I want for my birthday is a Little Free Library on my street. This one is a dream.
- Mental health break
